Procedure for transferring .LV domain name

When you request a transfer for your .LV domain name towards NETIM, the procedure below is followed. After transfer, we become the billing and technical contacts for your domain name.

The transfer is free because it is just a change of the billing contact and the technical contacts without a domain name renewal. You will benefit from all our services until the expiration of the domain name, when you will have to renew with NETIM.


Requirements
In order to proceed with a transfer, the domain name's owner must request the transfer from the current owner's email address.

Different stages
Once your order has been confirmed, we will send you a change request for the domain name. This mail allows you to request the change of the billing and the technical contacts for NETIM:

  • our mail must be forwarded to the registry at dns-reg@nic.lv
  • ensure that you send the mail from the owner's email address in force in a whois lookup
    You can perform a whois at the following address http://www.netim.eu/tools/whois.php
    In our example below, the email address is hostmaster@netimworld.net

You can transfer your domain whenever you want, no need to wait for the expiration in order to complete the domain transfer.

   Important information

  • Deadline for transfer: 2 to 3 days before your domain name's expiration date
  • Ideal date for transfer: 2 weeks before expiration of your domain name
  • The owner's email address must be valid in order to send the request to the registry
