Procedure for transferring .LT domain names

Requirements
In order to proceed with a transfer, the domain name’s owner must authorize the operation on the registry's website

The owner must connect to the registrant's website at the following URL: https://www.domreg.lt/registrant.

If you don't have any login, you can activate one or retreive the current ID and password.

Caution: if your current provider has specified his email address for the owner, you will never receive the login. In this case, you have to request to the current registrar the following steps

Then you have to initiate a new transfer request by clicking on "Domain transfer" on the left side menu. Click onto the domain name you want to transfer and select "NETIM" is the list.

Different stages

Once your order has been confirmed, we will send a request for the transfer of your domain name to the registry. The latter will check if the domain transfer has been autorized by the owner:

• In the event of acceptance, the transfer is carried out.
• In the event of refusal, the transfer is cancelled.

The operation can be carried out within 24 hours if the transfer has been initiated before.

Once the transfer has been finalised, the domain name's expiration date is extended for a one year period starting from the date of the end of transfer. For example, if the domain expires on the 12/31/2008 and if the transfer is carried out on the 09/15/2008, the new expiration date will then be the 09/15/2009.

  Important information

• Deadline for transfer: 2 to 3 days before your domain name's expiration date
• Ideal date for transfer: 2 weeks before expiration of your domain name
• The current registrar for your domain name may not oppose the transfer to NETIM, given that only the owner has the right to initiate the transfer. Nevertheless, if the registrar has specified this email address for the owner, you have to request to him the initialization of the transfer.
