Requirements
In order to proceed with a transfer, the current registrar must accept the transfer. In order to do so you must notify the current registrar, by registered post with acknowledgement of receipt, of your wish to change your registrar to "NETIM FR".

Different stages
Once your order has been confirmed, we will send a transfer request for your domain name to the registry who will then provide us with an order number. The AFNIC will then ask for the current registrar to accept the request. The latter must approve the request and reply within 15 days:

  • In the event of acceptance within 15 days, the transfer is immediatly carried out.
  • In the event of refusal within 15 days, the initial time-frame is brought to six weeks, during which time the registrar still has the right to agree or ask a manual approval by the registry.
  • If no reply is received at end of the initial 15-days period, the transfer is carried out.

Once the transfer has been finalised, the domain name's expiration date is extended for a one year period starting from the date of the end of transfer. For example, if the domain expires on the 12/31/2008 and if the transfer is carried out on the 09/15/2008, the new expiration date will then be the 09/15/2009.

   Important information

  • Deadline for transfer: 1week before your domain name's expiration date
  • Ideal date for transfer: 2 weeks before expiration of your domain name
  • The transfer will be proceeded with once agreement has been received from the current registrar, whatever phase the refusal request or agreement request is in.
  • Change of ownership cannot be proceeded with in the same operation as the transfer.
